6 Weeks....

In 6 weeks, my baby will be ONE. Really? It almost feels surreal. I spend a lot of days remembering what I was doing at this time last year. I remember washing Hadley's clothes, getting the nursery ready, buying last minute items, packing for the hospital, cleaning the house...waiting for my precious gift to be here...so I could hold her in my arms. Those first 6 weeks of a newborn's life are really hard. Nothing can ever prepare you for it. It's one of those things you just have to experience. You are 100% responsible for another life...and that's kinda scary at first. You're learning about your baby. What makes her happy...what makes her cry. Those precious first days are long days too...you feel like they might last forever. :) But, they don't. In a blink, they're gone, and you're left looking at this little person who has more than doubled in size. This little person who can do so much for themselves now. Wow. I'm just in amazement.
So I won't forget...here are some of the things going on with Hadley.

1. I can clap my hands (9 months).
2. I have 4 teeth (2 bottom teeth, 1 top left tooth, and the tooth beside the top left tooth). My other front tooth is almost in & so is the one right beside it.
3. I'm still wearing a size 2 diaper. My mommy tired to move me up to a size 3, but it's just too big.
4. I'm wearing 9-12 month clothes, but there is still one 3 month outfit that I can still wear! Can you believe it??!
5. If you ask me what a cow says, I can mooooooooo! If you ask me what a dog says, I can bark bark!! :) I'm so smart. :)
6. I love to point...at everything!
7. I know who my mommy & daddy are, and I call them by name. (mama, dada)
8. My hair is growing so fast...my mommy almost doesn't know what to do with it!
9. I have had 3 sets of ear infections in 1 month. :( I've also ran my first fever when I was 9 months old. At one point my fever was up to 103, and it really scared my mommy.
10. I'm so busy. I will not stay in one place for 5 seconds. I'm always into something, and usually it's something I'm not supposed to be into!
11. I love to play with my diaper bag.
12. Grilled cheese sandwiches & turkey sandwiches are my new favorite! I can feed myself so easily, and it makes me feel like a big girl.
13. I don't like to take naps.
14. I get SO excited when I see people I know! My favorite time of the day is when my daddy comes home!
15. My grandmommy took me on my very first carousel ride! And, after that, my grandaddy showed me some ice skaters. I thought they were pretty cool.
16. Uhhh...I've learned how to pick my nose (9 months). My mommy doesn't like this.
17. I've also learned how to gag myself. My mommy really doesn't like this. (My mommy talked to the pediatrician about this, and he said this is something most kids go through).
18. All of a sudden, I'm terrified of the vacuum cleaner. I used to let my mommy vacuum with me strapped to her in the Baby Bjorn, but not any more! I won't even let her do it if she puts in down in the other room.
19. I'm also terrified of that little string that hangs down from your ceiling to pull the attic stairs down (anyone ever heard of this?? So strange!! Y'all she seriously holds onto me for dear life if she sees it).
20. I LOVE to drink water! It's delish!!!!!!!!!
21. I can make a sound like a cat purrrrring. :)
22. I'm still nursing 4-5 times a day. My mommy wonders how I'm going to act when I turn one and she weans me. What does wean mean?? I hope it's not something I'm not going to like.
23. Bath time is at 7 (or a little earlier if I'm really cranky). Then, I nurse, and I go night night.
24. I wake up between 6-7 every morning. My mommy usually hopes it's at 7. :)
25. I've started dancing when I hear music I like!
26. I'm cruising all over the place. I like to throw my toys down & stoop down to pick them up.
27. My mommy first thought that I might walk before I'm one, but now she's not so sure that I will. I've had a few set backs since I've been so sick.
28. I'm not scared of crawling anywhere by myself....even if it's in a dark empty room.
29. But, I'm not a dare devil. If I think I'm going to fall down and hurt myself, I don't like it, and I don't want to do it.
30. I love to give kisses (she's been doing this for a long time, but now she does it more & more).
31. I'm starting to let my mommy read books to me, but only if I can have one to hold and chew on.
32. I still love my paci, but only when I'm sleepy or don't feel well.
33. I LOVE my lovie...
34. AND anything with a tag on it!!!
35. I HEART paper...anything paper...but my mommy always takes it away from me. :( I really just want to play with it...and put it in my mouth...and eat it. :)
36. We've been to the doctor so many times this month that my mommy wishes it was buy one get one free. :)
37. I still love to watch my soother in my crib.
38. I H.A.T.E tv and will not watch it for one single second. Even if my mommy really wishes I would...for just a minute...so she can do the dishes. :)

Look at all my hair!! It's in my eyes! Not sure what to do with it. She has more hair on the top than she does on the sides, so it's hard to just brush it over.
