Hadley is already 14 months old. I look at her, and I think she looks so grown up. I'm going to do a list of things she was doing or did during her 13 month...
--you are wearing 12-18 month clothes. Usually the 12 month size fits you better, but you are SO tall you need the 18 month size for length...especially if you are wearing a bubble.
--you are still wearing a size 3 diaper. The other day I was in Wal-Mart trying to buy more diapers and for some reason I completely forgot what size you wore!!! Can you say "lack of sleep?!!" You really hate to have your diaper changed. I think it's because it makes you slow down.
--you still won't drink plain white milk. Sometimes I try to trick you, but you're smarter than that. I have been trying to wean you off of your carnation instant breakfast though. We'll see I guess.
--you have become quite a picky eater!! I used to take pride & say MY baby girl will eat anything!!! One thing I've learned as a parent is to "never say never" and don't judge another mommy!! You just never know!
--you are refusing to eat most vegetables. I go to great lengths to make sure you get them though. I've finally discovered that you will eat fresh squash if I slice it, put a little olive oil on it, season it, and bake it in the oven for a few minutes.
--I really think that you have issues with texture & that's why you're refusing to eat certain foods. You don't like veggies that are mushy...
--so, you've quit eating bananas!!! I can't believe it because these used to be your favorite! I still try to give them to you.
--you love strawberries and green & red grapes. Watermelon is a favorite too.
--you will eat any kind of meat! Chicken, pot roast, ham, turkey, fish, and so on! I haven't found any that you will refuse...yet!
--you love all starches...I guess you get this from your mommy. You love to eat whole wheat goldfish (even though I really try hard to get you to eat other snacks). You love potatoes, mac & cheese, and any kind of pasta.
--you love to have scrambled eggs in the morning or a homemade bran muffin.
--cheese toast is a new favorite.
--you LOVE cookies & will beg for them if you see the bag. I usually give you the Gerber whole grain graham cracker kind in the shape of animals. I guess these would be like animal crackers, huh? :) You also love birthday cake! It seems like we've been to lots of birthdays here lately.
--you have such a strong will. You know what you want, and you'll try almost anything to get it.
--you took your first steps one week before your birthday. Two weeks later...walking was your primary mode of transportation. Now, you are running everywhere!!! I call you my busy, busy bee.
--you are also a climber!! You will climb in & out of things. You have learned to climb off & on the ottoman at home. And, you can climb off of our king size master bed! It kinda scares me to death.
--you love to play hide and seek & peek-a-boo. You also love to be tickled. Daddy and I also play this little game with you in the mornings where we hide your "bunny" from you, and you love, love, love it! You squeal and laugh!
--you are saying more and more words! But, you are NOT a performer, so you will not do this on demand. I'm trying to remember all the words you say, so here is a short list (until I can find the sheet of paper I've written all the words down on!)
mama
dada
bow (for your hair)
ball (this is your favorite toy!!!)
light
snack (sounds like "ack")
Sophie (she makes an "S" sound for this)
hot (sounds like "ought")
ouch
this (sounds like "dis")
that (sound like "dat")
This & that were actually 2 of your first words after you said mama & dada. I guess I didn't realize how often I said it. "Hadley do you want this or that?" And, I point to whatever I'm talking about.
I know there are more words, but I'll come back & add to this list later.
--you know lots of words, but sometimes you can't say them. 9 times out of 10 if I ask you to go get something. You will come back with the correct object.
--you LOVE playing outside, and when we make you come back inside you get very upset.
--one of your new favorite toys is your baby doll. You pick her up & walk around the house rocking her, kissing her, and patting her.
--you also love purses! You carry anything you can on your arm like it's a purse. You also love to go through mommy's purse...which is a major "No, no!"
--You are crazy about shoes!!! You love any & all shoes, and now you're even trying to put on shoes. They can be your shoes, mommy's shoes, daddy's shoes, or anyone's shoes. Another fun game you love, is taking all the shoes out of our master closet & putting them in the bath tub. Mommy isn't very fond of this game!
--when I ask you where your nose is, you stick your finger UP your nose!!! I didn't teach you that part. I think it's funny right now, but I might need to try to get you to stop doing it soon! You also know where your eyes, ears, mouth, belly button, and toes are.
--you still don't take very good naps. Usually you take two a day. The morning nap is normally no longer than 1 hour. Your afternoon nap is 45minutes to 1.5 hours. BUT...you sleep about 12 hours a night, so I really can't complain!
--you still love bath time, and you especially love it when we let you have a bubble bath. You try to eat the bubbles. You also love to suck the water out of your wash cloth. GROSS! Whenever I see you doing this (sometimes you're very quick) I take it away from you.
--you've kinda started helping us put your pajamas on. You'll hold your arm out and try to help sick your fingers through the sleeve. You still wear long sleeve footed pajamas because the air conditioning is so cold at night time.
--bath time is still between 6:30 and 7:00 (depending how much napping you did that day), and you go straight to sleep right after that...without fussing at all! For some reason, you really love to go to bed at night! I'm really hoping that this trend will continue.
So...here is the start of the list. Hopefully, I can do a better job of keeping up with things from now on.
playing outside at grandmommy's house!
I think Hadley looks so grown up in this picture...minus the paci. She LOVES that paci. I'm thinking about taking it away soon. Thoughts anyone?
When Hadley knows she's not supposed to do something, she always looks back like this....
That's right sweet girl, you cannot play in those cabinets!
For some reason, I just love this picture. I love this little profile!

Bonnie, she is growing so quickly. Thank you for sharing about her life. I love hearing what she is up to. :-) Miss you guys!
I do the exact same thing with the blogs. I get overwhelmed and disinterested. If I wait too long, forget it! On another note, Hadley is so cute! What's the deal on the carnation instant bfast? We've tried to get AM onto the whole milk. She drank it the first week but not since.
